John worked tirelessly as a Narcotics Detective and later as a Major Crimes Detective, earning the respect of colleagues and community members alike.
In 2023, John transitioned to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, where he was assigned to the Fentanyl Overdose Crimes Unit within the Bureau of Investigation. His extensive experience in criminal investigations, combined with his interpersonal skills and relationships across law enforcement agencies in Ventura County, made him an invaluable asset in efforts to combat overdose deaths. John’s dedication to reducing substance abuse-related tragedies showcased his compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to public safety.
A proud Oxnard native, John grew up in the community he served. He graduated from Channel Islands High School, where he was a three-year starter in both baseball and football—traits that reflected his teamwork and leadership qualities. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice Management, further exemplifying his dedication to his career and community.
